
Nathan Meier

Nathan Meier is Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research Development within the Office of Research and Innovation at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). Leading UNL’s research development group, he enhances research partnerships, capacity, and competitiveness to support faculty and institutional goals for extramural funding, societal impact, and external recognition.
Since 2003, Nathan has partnered with UNL faculty and administrators and non-profit organizations across the U.S. and in East Africa to secure more than $334 million to advance research and education projects, infrastructure improvements, and the delivery of public health and entrepreneurship programming.
He has served as a member of the ARIS awards committee, participated as an administrative partner in the center’s Program to Enhance Organizational Research Impact Capacity (ORIC), and was named to the 2024 cohort of ORIC Fellows.
Also a member of the boards of Huru International and the National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP), Nathan currently is the Immediate Past President of NORDP.
He earned a BA in English from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a Master of Technical and Professional Communication from Auburn University.
