Jamie Bell
Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC)
Jamie Bell is Senior Advisor at the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) where he also served as the Project Director and Principal Investigator of the Center for Advancement of Informal Science Education (CAISE) from 2010 to 2023. Before that Mr. Bell worked in a variety of leadership roles in the informal STEM education field, including in youth programs and museum exhibit development at the Exploratorium, teacher professional development at the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, and as an exhibit consultant at TERC. Bell also spent three years in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia developing a Center of Learning with Petrosains: The Discovery Center.
In 2021 Jamie was named an education Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), in 2022 as an ASTC Fellow for outstanding contributions to the field and is currently a member of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Standing Committee on Advancing Science Communication. During 2024 Bell worked with the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw, Poland as a Fulbright specialist. He holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon and Harvard University Graduate School of Education and among his areas of interest are program development, learning theory, and museum exhibit facilitation. In his leisure time Jamie enjoys swimming, reading, and playing seven-string guitar in Brazilian music settings.
