Case studies will be published in a JCES special issue in 2024

The Center for Advancing Research Impact in Society (ARIS) is proud to have selected 10 universities and entities to pilot and test our ARIS Toolkit. The newest Toolkit participants are University of Oklahoma, Michigan State University, University of New Mexico, North Carolina State University, Sciencenter (Ithaca, NY), The City College of New York, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. This group will join our first cohort of Penn State University, University of Texas at Dallas, and University of Nebraska. This work will improve the ARIS Toolkit used by researchers to expand and improve their BI efforts, and results will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship in 2024 using a case study approach.

“We are very excited to have our colleagues join our efforts to develop and refine a suite of tools to assist researchers in developing quality projects that provide mechanisms for researchers to share their research and benefit society,” said Co-PI Dr. Janice McDonnell, Science Agent in the Department of Youth Development at Rutgers University.

Dr. Susan D. Renoe, ARIS Executive Director, says the toolkit is one of many developments on the horizon for the NSF-funded center. “ARIS is committed to helping scientists and researchers engage in activities that have meaningful, long-term impact in their communities and society. Together we can leverage knowledge to benefit society and make the world a better place.”

The ARIS Toolkit has been developed with the support of National Science Foundation grants OCE-0730719, OIA-1810732 and OIA-2140950.
