The Center for Advancing Research Impact in Society (ARIS) is seeking applications for a group of thought leaders from Emerging Research Institutions (ERIs), Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-serving Institutions (AANAPISI), community colleges, technical colleges, and/or institutions from EPSCoR jurisdictions to partner with ARIS to reimagine the Program to Enhance Organizational Research Impact Capacity (ORIC) program to fit the needs of diverse institution types.

What is ORIC?

ORIC is a two-year cohort model program that provides professional development, resources, mentoring and community-building to five to eight participant institutions to support the development of research impact and broader impacts (BI) infrastructure at their respective institutions. ORIC was designed with a requirement for each participating institution to present a “BI Team,” consisting of the BI Professional(s) and an Administrative Partner (typically someone such as a VP of Research or VP of Engagement).

What Will ORIC Fellows Do?

ARIS ORIC Fellows will work with ARIS leadership to expand ORIC to better support ERIs, HBCUs, TCUs, HSIs, AANAPISIs, EPSCoR jurisdictions, community colleges, technical colleges, and other institution types to build and or expand their own capacity for research impact and to support broader impact (BI) efforts.

Fellows will meet virtually and at one in-person meeting July 24-26, 2024 in Princeton, NJ to craft a new ORIC program that will begin accepting institutional applications 2025.  Participants would be paid a stipend of $2,000 for their work in addition to travel and expenses for the in-person meeting.
