The University of Missouri in collaboration with the Center for Advancing Research Impact in Society (ARIS) is pleased to announce an opening for the Director of Training and Professional Development for ARIS. ARIS works with U.S. and international scientists and engagement practitioners to build capacity, advance scholarship, grow partnerships and provide resources to help them engage with and demonstrate the impact of research in their communities and society.

This position develops, implements, and evaluates training and professional development offerings through the center. It will oversee training content of the center, a multi-institutional development programming, and support fellowships funded by ARIS.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee the operations of a multi-institutional professional development program for research administrators and broader impacts professionals.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate training and professional development curriculum for NSF-funded Center focused on broader impacts.
  • Support other work of the Center, including partnership development, fellowship programming, and annual conferences and convenings.

Required qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Five+ years of broader impacts and professional development experience required; specific experience with NSF-funded grants, Master’s degree.
