Professor, Supply Chain Management Department and Director, Rutgers Center for Local Supply Chain Resiliency and Director, Public Private Community Partnerships, Rutgers Business School
Dr. Lyons’ research includes local sourcing, sustainability, social and health impact criteria for supply chain, procurement, and contracting processes and operations to promote economic development. He developed the Center for Local Supply Chain Resiliency, the Supply Chain Environmental Archeology research program/lab.
Previously, Dr. Lyons was the Chief Procurement Officer at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and he is an U.S. Air Force Veteran. He has written two supply chain books

Supply Chains for Society: Quantifying Impact by Design
This keynote talk explores how our Rutgers Center for Local Supply Chain Resiliency embeds real-world change into the research lifecycle by bridging the gap between logistics and community equity. Using a portfolio of diverse projects—ranging from Newark food systems to global textile sustainability—I will demonstrate how quantifiable data and strategic internal and external partnerships drive measurable improvements in local economies and environmental health.
