Tanya Ennis, PhD is the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in Research, Innovation and Creative Work in the Research & Innovation Office at the University of Colorado Boulder. Tanya serves as the strategic lead in programs that promote the integration of DEI within the research, creative work and innovation ecosystem of the university. She provides leadership and expertise to develop, implement and achieve goals of both campus and unit-level DEI strategic plans. As funding agencies require DEI plans, Tanya supports researchers as they respond authentically to DEI grant questions and requirements in grant proposals. Her former roles include serving as the Broadening Participation Director for the SpectrumX Center and for the Research Support Office in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at CU Boulder.

Additionally, Tanya led and directed The BOLD Center and the Engineering GoldShirt Program which served diverse CEAS engineering students through an inclusive excellence model. She also taught high school mathematics for 8 years and worked in the telecommunications industry for 13 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Southern University, a master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California, and a PhD in Education – Learning Sciences and Human Development, from the University of Colorado Boulder.
