Impact Goals Award
University of Pittsburgh
Our clean water future can be found where science and community meet is the tagline for the Pittsburgh Collaboratory for Water at the University of Pittsburgh, which bridges efforts in water research, governance, and action. Established in 2017, the Collaboratory drives knowledge co-production among universities, local governments, non-profits, and community groups across Western Pennsylvania with a mission of finding sustainable research-based solutions to the region’s serious water challenges, such as raw sewage overflows, aging infrastructure, and industrial contamination. The Collaboratory is committed to benefiting society through its work ensuring that data and expertise are accessible to those who need it, that research responds to real needs, and that students are prepared to solve real challenges, today and tomorrow.
