Engaging STEM Faculty in Outreach to Communities with Blindness and Vision Impairment (BVI) by Shaping Scientists’ Impact Identities

• Goal: Our project seeks to make STEM more inclusive for a community of life-long problem-solvers that are traditionally marginalized – those with blindness and low vision (BLV). We will develop a program, including methodologies and resources, to prepare scientists to effectively engage and inspire BLV learners at all levels in their outreach efforts.

• Aspirations for Impact: We will develop methodologies and resources to prepare scientists to effectively engage and inspire BLV learners at all levels in their outreach efforts. We hope to coalesce a community of science researchers across the United States and around the world who will actively broaden access to the wonder of STEM to persons with BLV.
