Divya Sitaraman

Dr. Divya Sitaraman is an Associate Professor at California State University, East Bay. A neuroscientist, she studies how organisms interact with their environment, evaluate choices, and generate behavior. Her research focuses on small neural circuits with measurable outputs in genetically tractable systems.

Her work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. In parallel, she is committed to making science more accessible by developing low- and no-cost research experiences that bridge the gap between the laboratory and the classroom. She views science as a unifying force—bringing people together across different interests to collaborate, learn, and share in the joy of discovery.
