Dr. Erin James is Professor of English, Sustainability Certificate Director, and Affiliate Faculty of Environmental Science at the University of Idaho. Her work studies what role narratives can—and should—play in response to the climate crisis.

Erin is also Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Confluence Lab, which engages in creative interdisciplinary research projects that gather scholars in the arts, humanities, and sciences, together with community members, to engage in environmental issues impacting rural communities. Confluence Lab projects have been funded by the Mellon Foundation, the National Science Foundation, and the National Endowment of the Humanities.
