Research Impacts Specialist

Rebecca E. Heiser, EdD, is the Research Impacts Specialist for ARIS with the Office for Research Advancement in the Division of Research and Innovation at Oregon State University. In this role, Rebecca supports efforts to build an inter/national leadership collective that guides research institutions and organizations in adopting societally responsive frameworks to enhance research impacts with the Broader Impacts Institutional Innovation (RI3) program. She collaborates with partners to convene discussions, develop actionable scholarship, and promote evidence-based practices that drive systemic change and advance socially impactful research.

Additionally, Rebecca serves as the Interviews Editor with the American Journal of Distance Education and has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Governor General Gold Award, the highest academic achievement award from a Canadian university. Rebecca’s research interests include the internationalization of higher education, participatory learning analytics, international research collaboration, measuring academic scholarship, and exploring quality in distance education.
