Kennesaw State University

Evelina Sterling, PhD, MPH, MCHES is currently an Associate Professor of Medical Sociology at Kennesaw State University.  Her additional roles have included serving as Interim Associate Dean for Research, Interim Department Chair, and Director of Research Development. Although she maintains a robust externally funded research agenda centered on health equity, she enjoys most of all helping other faculty at all levels develop their own research and achieve external funding. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Mary Washington College, a master’s degree in public health from the Johns Hopkins University and a doctoral degree in medical sociology from Georgia State University.

I hope that as ORIC Fellows we gain a better understanding of broader impacts to help others be successful in growing applied research with societal impact at all types of institutions.
