Why should I join ARIS?

ARIS provides a home for the community of experts who support researchers in their efforts to build research impact capacity. Members gain access to exclusive resources, discounts on training and the annual Summit, and professional development opportunities.

What is the difference between an individual and organizational membership?

Individual memberships stay with the person, regardless of their institution. Organizational memberships cover the entire institution, allowing anyone with a campus email address to access member benefits.

What is the membership term?

ARIS memberships run for one year from the date of purchase.

Does my membership renew automatically?

No. ARIS does not automatically renew memberships. You will receive renewal reminders as your expiration date approaches.

How do I join as an individual?

You can select the Individual or Student membership option on our membership page and complete the online registration and payment process.

How does my institution join?

An institutional representative can purchase an Organizational Membership. Once active, all faculty, staff, and students at that institution can create their own accounts linked to the organizational profile.

What is an 'Emerging Research Institution' (ERI)?

ERIs are institutions that have established undergraduate or graduate programs but receive less than $50 million in federal research expenditures annually. These institutions qualify for a reduced organizational membership rate of $3,000.

Can I upgrade from an individual to an organizational membership?

Yes. If your institution decides to join, your individual membership can be transitioned. Please contact the ARIS team for assistance with this transition.

What payment methods does ARIS accept?

We accept major credit cards through our secure online portal. For organizational memberships, we can also process payments via check or ACH upon request.

Is my membership tax-deductible?

ARIS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Membership dues may be deductible as a business expense; please consult with your tax advisor.
